Meet Chef Michelle
Born and raised in the city of Detroit,
Michelle Hatcher began cooking at the age of 8 or 9 with her grandmother, Sallie Mae Solomon.
It was at a young age where the love for food found a place in Michelle’s heart. Beginning her professional catering journey in high school, at Detroit Northern in 1988, Michelle also attended vocational training at Golightly Vocational Center to further her culinary education. She remained in the program for 4 years upon her completion.
Chef Michelle received her training at Mott Community College through their premiere culinary program, where she received 2 degrees.
She received an associates in Food Service Management and an associates in Culinary Arts.
She later attended Baker Community College where she received a Bachelors degree in Business Management and a Bachelors in Culinary Arts.
She has acquired an abundance of experience throughout metro Detroit utilizing her skills and experiences cooking for the Flint institute of Arts, the Buick Open, Nascar racing, and a variety of other personal and professional clients.
In 2000, These experiences has led nChef Michelle to starting her own company;
Sunshine’s Catering Company.
Working as the first woman Sous Chef at Cobo Hall for 15 years, while maintaining her catering business, Chef Michelle has had the honor of catering events for some of the most influential people within the city of Detroit.
Meet Chef Butter
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan,
Camille Lewis' love of cooking began at a early age. As a child living with her grandparents on Fenkell Ave, she always participated in preparation of family meals. Whether it was peeling a yam, or cleaning some greens, she was always hands on. During high school, Chef Butter attended Breithaupt Vocational Center, learning and working under the prestigious Chef Toliver. After high school, her life changed. She fell into a life of the streets, drugs, and crime. One day God spoke to her and said there was hope. That's when she knew it was time for a change. At that moment, she began cooking again. She acquired a job at Cobo Hall, Serving on staff for 15 years, gaining full culinary skills and experiences.
Doors began to open up for her when she met Chef Michelle. Chef Butter became the Co-Owner of Sunshine’s Catering Company, giving her so many great things to look forward to.
